1. What is Mojingo.com?
Mojingo.com provides a place for sports fans and sports gambling enthusiasts to share sports knowledge, research games, and compete in fantasy pick 'em contests for cash and non-cash prizes. Mojingo.com is not a gambling site, as users participate in all contests for FREE! Mojingo.com users can show off their sports and team expertise through participation in our contests. Premium members can benefit from this expertise by accessing all users' track records and game predictions prior to an event's start. At Mojingo.com, we believe that fans are the real experts and want members to utilize the sports expertise of the best proven sports "bettors".
2. Does Mojingo.com cost money?
Registration on Mojingo.com is free, allowing you to participate in any of our contests. Absolutely no credit card is necessary. In the future, there may be a fee to become a premium member, which gives you access to the Mojingo.com Database, as well as other exciting features. If you are not registered, please click here and follow instructions to sign up.
3. How do I unregister or change my username?
If you no longer wish to participate on Mojingo.com, please e-mail us at support@mojingo.com. We will remove your account and information from our system. We do not allow users to change their username.
4. What are Mojingo.com pick 'em contests? How do I find contest rules?
You can participate in contests for each major American sport (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, NCAAB, NCAAF) during their respective seasons for cash and other prizes. We may offer weekly, monthly, seasonal, and/or other special contests. You can make no-risk bets against real-time betting lines with a chance to win or lose points; those who accumulate the most points during each contest will win cash or non-cash prizes. You can make picks on a game up to three ways; line (against-the-spread), total (over/under), and money line. Please see How-to-Play and Betting 101 for more detail.
5. What do I need to do to start making "Picks"?
Simply register for a username and password and start making picks to participate in all Mojingo.com contests. Once you make one pick in a given sport, you are entered into all current contests for that sport. To register, simply fill out the required information on the registration page. We will not share personal information with anyone.
6. I don't know how to bet on sports, can you teach me?
Check out our Betting 101 page and you will learn all you need to know to participate in our pick 'em contests.
7. How do I win a contest?
Qualified participants with the most points at the end of the contest will be eligible for prizes. Points are gained through making correct picks on events that fall within each contests' sport and time period. Likewise, points are lost for incorrect picks. All winners must qualify, meaning they have made the minimum number of "Picks" and "Locks" for that contest. Please see individual contests on the contest list for more detail on rules and qualification.
8. Can I win money?
Many of our contests offer cash and non-cash prizes to participants who accumulate the highest point totals during the contest period. Please see individual contest rules for prize details. To be eligible for prizes, you must be at least 18 years of age, and provide a valid name, mailing address, and e-mail address. Further, prize recipients must be legal residents of the United States.
9. Do I have to pay for points?
No. Once you enter into a contest, you will instantly receive 10,000 points just for entering. Please note that you are automatically entered into a contest when you make a "Pick" or "Lock" in that sport between the contest start and end dates.
10. What are the minimum requirements to qualify for a contest?
The minimum "Pick" and "Lock" requirements for prize qualification vary by contest. However, they are determined before the start of each contest and can be viewed on the Contests page.
11. What is the difference between a "Pick" and a "Lock"?
When you make a "Pick" you risk 100 points, with the number of points for winning based on the odds for that particular event. If you are confident in your opinion on an event, you can place a "Lock", risking 220 points for the opportunity to double the points won on a regular "Pick".
12. What is the dashboard?
Your dashboard will be visible on your homepage, and will provide a summary on your status in current contests as well as show active Mojingo contests in which you are not yet participating. Information includes your current standings in the contest, number of "Picks" and "Locks" needed to qualify, points behind the leader, and whether you are currently in prize position. If you are not currently entered into a contest, you will be notified on the dashboard.
13. How does the standings page work?
The standings page will show how participants stack up against each other in each contest. Participants will be listed from highest point total to lowest. Other information on users will include contest wins and losses, number of "Picks" and "Locks" made, and qualification status. Users who are not yet qualified will be included on the standings page. However, if they fail to qualify before a contest ends, they will not be eligible for prizes, and will be removed from standings for purposes of determining the contest winners.
14. What happens if there are ties?
In the unlikely event that participants are tied for a prize, the prize will be shared. For example, if there is a two person tie for 1st, those users will split the 1st and 2nd prizes. If it is a non-cash prize, each user will win a prize that is at least equal in value to each user's share of the total prizes to be awarded to the tied participants places in the final standings.
15. Can I enter more than once in contests?
No. Each registered user only gets one entry into each contest. We request that users do not use multiple accounts. If we suspect a user has created multiple accounts, those accounts will not be eligible as qualified referrals in our referral contests.
16. I've noticed some scores change after games have ended. How does that impact my point totals?
On occasion, final scores posted on Mojingo.com can change hours after the game has been completed. When a change occurs, we will re-process the game and user points will be adjusted, if necessary. However, if you feel like an error has been made in calculating point totals, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to resolve the issue in a timely manner, though are not responsible for factors that are beyond our control.
17. What happens if a score change is made after a contest is complete?
Changes in final scores generally occur within a few hours of a games completion, leaving plenty of time to adjust user points accordingly. Additionally, we wait at least 1 business day after a contest is complete before finalizing standings and prizes, leaving plenty of time for score changes to flow through the system. If you notice an error after standings for a contest have been finalized, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to resolve the issue in a timely manner, though are not responsible for factors that are beyond our control.
18. How much does it cost to become a premium member?
Currently, our premium membership is free.
19. What do I get as a premium member?
As a premium member, you will gain access to the Mojingo.com Database, which provides detailed stats for all other users, including historical pick records by sport, conference/league, division and team. Through our unique "Picks" and "Locks" filtering module, you can filter on "Picks" for a given event, based on your own preferences. This will allow you to find the "experts" on that game based on the information in our database. Using filters such as Win % in NFL, Win % involving either team, and bet type, premium members can easily identify experts and gain access to predictions for the game prior to the event start.
Additional premium member perks will be made available in a future release, including the ability to instant message with other users.
20. What user information will be visible to fellow website users?
Premium members will have access to the Mojingo Database, which will allow them to view all other users' current game "Picks", "Locks", rationale, and performance history details. As a registered member, you can also see other users' favorite sports and teams. Personal information will not be made available to any other users and will not be sold.
21. Why are moneyline picks excluded from user records for basketball and football games?
In basketball and football, it is not unusual to see large favorites (big moneylines). By picking those big favorites, a user could accumulate a misleading win-loss record. We don't want user records to be artificially inflated, and have therefore decided to exclude monelyines for basketball and football from user records. However, moneyline picks do count towards Mojingo contest standings. In hockey and baseball, the puck-line or run-line are the most popular bet type, and therefore we include those bet types in user records.
22. When can premium members view other users' "Picks"?
Upon submission, all user "Picks" will be immediately visible to premium members via the picks/locks page. The member simply needs to search for "Picks" and "Locks" on a given game, and all submitted picks by Mojingo.com users that meet the member's search criteria will be displayed.
23. What is the "My Account" page?
The "My Account" page will be a snapshot of your performance over time. Other users will be able to see your record by sport, conference/league, division and team. This will help users to better understand who is most knowledgeable on each sporting event.
24. How do I use the Picks/Locks filter?
The Picks/Locks page allows premium members to narrow down the number of users picking a particular game based on various win percentages (e.g., by sport, team, conference). In doing this you have the ability to view only the "Picks" of other users that you deem as experts on a specific game. For example, if 1,359 users have made a "Pick" on the Duke @ UNC basketball game, you can narrow down the list to only those users that have made a money line pick and have a win % of >65% in the ACC for the season. You can further narrow the users by defining a win % for both Duke and UNC. In doing so, you will have weeded out those users that have been less successful in ACC games, and specifically on these two teams.
25. What are "Quick Picks" and "Team Experts"?
"Quick Picks" lets Mojingo find the experts for you. We use a pre-defined search criteria to display the 10 users that qualify as the top experts for a specific game. "Team Experts" further narrows down that search criteria to only show experts for a specific team.
26. What is "Mojingo Masters"?
The "Mojingo Masters" page allows users to easily search for the community experts by sport, league, division or team. The page will list Mojingo users starting with top winning percentage. Use the filters to narrow the list by sport, league, division or team, and find out who knows best within your chosen criteria.
27. What are "Popular Trends"?
On several pages throughout Mojingo.com, we will list "Popular Trends". These "Popular Trends" will be based on events and bet types that have the highest percentage of Mojingo.com users selecting one side of the pick. While we recognize betting odds change, and users will not have all made their selection with the same odds, we believe this will give site visitors a good sense of community sentiment.
28. What is a "Favorite"?
If you would like to track another Mojingo.com user's "Picks" and record more closely, you can make them a "Favorite", without receiving their permission. Think of a "Favorite" like an internet browser bookmark, making it easier to find that individual whenever you want. Making a user a "Favorite", does not allow you to see any more information than you would be able to see by simply clicking on any Mojingo.com user.
29. What is a "Friend"?
A "Friend" is another Mojingo.com user that has accepted your request to be your "Friend". This will make it easier to see each other's user stats. Eventually, "Friend" status will be useful with advanced premium member features, such as instant messaging.
30. Can I invite friends to join?
Yes. There are several places throughout the website where you can send an invitation for friends to join Mojingo.com. Further, you can compete in our referral contest; the users who bring in the most qualified referrals can win cash prizes. Go to the "who's online" section or to the "referrals" page to invite friends now!
31. When can I make contest "Picks"?
You can make picks on a game as soon as betting lines are available for that game, and up until 1 hour before the game starts. While there is a "Pick" minimum to qualify, users can make as many "Picks" as they choose (i.e., no maximum). Once a "Pick" is submitted, it cannot be edited.
32. Where can I make contest "Picks"?
"Picks" are made on the game pages for each sporting event via the "make picks" link on the league scoreboard page. You can also access the game pages through links on the homepage and league homepage. If you would like to make picks for all games for a given sport at one time, you can visit the Make Picks page, which you can access either through that sport's drop down menu, or via the "Make Picks Now" icon on each page. You will see real-time odds for each event on the scoreboard page and game page.
33. How do I make "Picks"?
You can make "Picks" on the game pages for each event, or via each sport's Make Picks page. Once on the page, you can view each bet type for those games (e.g. line, total, or money line). If you decide to make a selection on one or more of the bet types, simply click on the "Pick" or "Lock" option for each game and bet type, add rationale (optional) and click on "Submit". You will get a confirmation before the "Pick" is submitted. You can then view all pending "Picks" by clicking on the "My Picks" page.
34. Can I edit a contest "Pick"?
No. Once a "Pick" or "Lock" is submitted, it is final.
35. Can I share picks on my facebook page?
Yes. After submitting picks on a game, simply click on the Facebook icon and share your picks with your friends.
36. How many points do I win or lose with each "Pick"?
You risk 100 points for each "Pick", with real-time betting lines determining the potential payout for a winning selection. If you place a "Lock" on the event, you are risking 220 points, with the potential payout twice the amount as with a regular "Pick".
Note: All points are rounded to the nearest point. A pick with -110 odds is worth 91 points, not 90.9

37. What is the "My Picks" page?
The "My Picks" page will display your "Picks" and "Locks" for the current day along with live updates on your performance. You can keep track of points gained or lost in completed games, where your "Pick" stands based on current scores of in-progress games, and the maximum points you can win based on completed, in-progress or yet-to-start. The page can automatically refresh to provide frequent updates on each event for which you have made selections.
Additionally, the "My Picks" page allows you to view "Picks" and "Locks" made on a previous day, span of dates, predefined dates like "Yesterday", or the dates for a specific contest.
38. What is Game Chatter?
The Game Chatter section allows you to comment on a sporting event, or respond to other Mojingo user comments. Game Chatter sections exist for all games on the website. Engage in conversations with other knowledgeable sports fans.
39. What happens if a game is suspended, shortened, or postponed?
Any "Pick" or "Lock" on a game that is suspended, shortened, or postponed due to weather or other mitigating circumstances will be automatically treated as a push (no points won or lost), assuming game does not go final during contest period. You can make new "Picks" or "Locks on rescheduled events, assuming odds are available. While MLB games are most likely to be impacted by suspensions, shortened games, or postponements, circumstances could lead to such occurrences in any sport.
40. If I win, how do I get paid?
If you win a contest, you will be notified via e-mail within 5 business days of the end of the contest. For cash prizes, directions on how to receive your money through Paypal will be included. For non-cash prizes (e.g. hats, t-shirts etc.), the e-mail will contain the shipping address that we have on file. Any changes to that address need to be sent to us immediately to avoid any problems receiving your prize. For non-cash prizes, your prize will be sent out within 10 business days of the contest completion. If contact/address information is not provided or incorrect, you may lose out on your prize.
41. What if I don't receive prize notification e-mail?
If you feel you have won a prize, but did not receive notification, we may not have your correct e-mail address. Please make sure your information is entered correctly. It is not our responsibility to find you if you supplied incomplete or inaccurate information. If you believe you have provided the correct information, and still have not received notification, please contact us (support@mojingo.com).
